A couple of weeks ago, we talked about the importance of advance healthcare planning–indeed, it’s the one piece of the estate planning puzzle that practically every adult can benefit from. Today is National Healthcare Decisions Day, a day for preparing plans to allow others to make medical decisions for you if ever you are unable to do so yourself.
Here’s the details on today’s event:
I’ll be at Hillside Christian Church, 900 NE Vivion Road, Gladstone, MO 64118 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm this evening to help people prepare durable powers of attorney for healthcare decisions and advance healthcare directives. The event is free and open to the public; it is not limited to church members. You don’t have to show up right at 5:00–I’ll take people on a first-come, first-served basis, but you can come anytime during the event.
I’ll meet with individuals during the event to help them complete durable powers of attorney and advance healthcare directives. How long we have to meet depends on the turnout, but I’ll give everyone as much time and attention as I can.
We’ll be using the Missouri Bar forms for today’s event, and you can get those here if you’d like to look them over ahead of time.
